Soldiers from the art troupe of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Tibet Military Command performed at the headquarters and frontline military posts of a plateau-stationed model battalion based in Xigaze, Southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region on Friday. The battalion is stationed at an area with an average altitude of 4,810 meters, and the lowest temperature can be -40C, the Global Times learned. The borderline it safeguards is important, due to the China-India border conflict. In 2016, the troops stationed in the border region at the northern foot of the Himalayas were awarded the model battalion honor.
